So you say you want a bring-your-own-device policy at your company?
Great -- everybody's doing it! But hold on there for a second: You can't just start telling all your employees to bring whatever gear they've got and expect them to magically figure out how to make it work with your IT systems. (Well, that's how we do it at VentureBeat, but like many startups, we fly by the seat of our pants a little bit.) As we reported earlier this month, 81 percent of companies have some kind of BYOD program in place, but only 37 percent of IT managers thought that their company's mobile strategy was working well.
