“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.” – Bruce Lee
One of the fundamental rules when starting a piece of artwork is being loose. It always starts off a little rough, and it may not look like how you originally intended. An idea is like water, a shapeless substance in your brain. A paper, a canvas or a marble is your cup… your bottle or your teacup. So pour your ideas in. Fill it halfway or all the way, just don’t overflow it. And let us drink.
