One of the most universal areas of negative thoughts is about our bodies.

I struggled with this one myself for decades.  It is so freeing to realize that all of the negative thoughts that we have about our bodies are just totally made-up; those thoughts are fiction.  We make up those negative thoughts as individuals, we make them up as a society.  But they are still fiction.  They have no basis in truth.

We could just as easily make up a story that everyone’s body is beautiful and perfect, just as it is right now.  Why do we not make up that story?  Why do we persist in (mentally) beating ourselves up because of a thought?

We think those negative thoughts every day for years, decades even, and eventually the Ego does what it always does – it attaches itself to those thoughts and it believes them.  And once Ego…
